TRAVEL: A Tour of N'awlins, Part 3

TRAVEL CONTRIBUTION BY VERONICA

Destination: New Orleans, LA

We explored the French Quarter and took the "sip-and-see" tour... Now it's time for the final stretch of Veronica's Tour of N'awlins in the Garden District and the CDC.

My sister and I were told that brunch at Commanders Palace was a must. Unfortunately we didn’t know that a reservation was also a must so the Maitre’d was nice enough to recommend Coquette (2800 Magazine Street, in the Garden District).

The food was so good that I didn’t get a chance to photograph it. I did get a great photo of our lunch guest instead.

What better way to digest our delicious brunch than to take a stroll through a cemetery, correct? Lucky for us Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 was right down the street.

So much trekking in such little time deserves a well made cocktail.  Though The Loa Bar in the lobby of the International House is a bit out of the way, it’s definitely worth the walk to try one of their cocktails.

One cocktail to try is the Haitian Salzerac made with 8yr old Haitian rhum.
