TRAVEL: A Tour of N'awlins, Part 2

TRAVEL CONTRIBUTION BY VERONICA

Destination: New Orleans, LA

We kicked off our tour of N'awlins with scenes from the French Quarter, and now it's for some "sipping-and-seeing".

In the mood for an afternoon beer but don’t but don’t want to waste your precious time at a bar? Take it to-go! Or as I liked to call it, Sip-and-See! And it’s completely legal in the French Quarter.

Bourbon St: You can either sing your heart out….

....or let someone else do the singing.

Jazz Musicians at Sing Sing

While sipping-and-seeing stop in the Voodoo Museum for a dose culture.

If white walls and giant halls aren’t your thing, then worry not, cause New Orleans Voodooo Museum’s two itty bity rooms are so jam packed with Voodoo relics that you'll think you walked into a horders home.

An alter inside the museum.

It’s now 2am, you’ve been siping-and-seeing your way around the French Quarter all day and you’re starving. These two locations might just be your best bet, if not only options, for late night bites.

Café du Monde at (800 Decatur Street) where your selection is limited to Coffee and Beignets or…

Coop’s Place (1109 Decatur st) where you’ll get served a wide selection of Cajun goodness.

If you have the time and actually end up buying the guide I mentioned above, then you’ll probably find yourself wandering through the charming Bywater neighborhood full of hidden gems and yummy restaurants.  I suggest getting to the neighborhood  early enough to grab breakfast or brunch at Elizabeth’s (601 Gallier St.). There will probably be a bit of a wait, so head upstairs to grab a Bloody Mary at the bar.

If brunch isn’t your thing then over to Lost Love Lounge (2529 Dauphine Street)From the outside you'd never be able to tell that tucked into the back of this bar/lounge is a tiny kitchen doling out yummy Vietnamese food.
