I've been inspired by so many looks this season, but it's always fun to see what the trends are in the black tie department.
Here's a few of my favorites from the evening.
pure glam:
Hayden Panettiere has grown up so much since "Remember the Titans". I've always been a big fan, especially with this ultra glam Marchesa dress. Looking forward to seeing her in the new series "Nashville" this fall.

a different shade of grey:
I've always loved Lucy Lui. Especially in this super chic silver metallic gown by Versace. I don't think many people could pull it off, however she executes this look with execellence.

the belt line:
I saw tons of belted gowns on the red carpet, which is fine by me because a cinched waist is super feminine in my opinion. However, Edie Falco took the the belt trend to a whole new level by adding a very modern edge in this Stella McCartney gown. That nail color is outstanding by the way.

neon, neon.
I saw about three actresses wearing this neon yellow color last night. It's exceptional. Daring, yet fun. I think the trick is to keep the style basic and just let the brightness of the color do the talking. Julianne Moore looks effortlessly striking in this Dior gown. A great contrast with her red hair. Magnificent.

a sequin story.
It's no secret that I have a small obsession with sequins. So of course I feel in love with Kerry Washington's Vivienne Westwood gown. The soft rose color compliments her skin beautifully. Well done.

So, what were your favorite looks on the red carpet?
I'd love to hear!

I enjoy exploring new cities, then sharing the treasures I find with others. I'm a connector and a believer. I think cupcakes make the world go 'round and could live off mac & cheese. It brings me joy to make others smile. I thrive off laughter, love, and good conversation. I'm a bit of a fashion bug who always supports the little guy. I like to inspire people to dream big and LIVE LARGE.

Edie Falco & Julianne Moore's dresses topped my list. Both are about 50 yrs old & still knockin em dead!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more -- I only hope that I can look just as fabulous as them at that age! Absolute style stars!
