TRAVEL CONTRIBUTION BY CARTER
Asheville is like a second home to me.
I have a lot of family there, and while growing up I've had the good fortune of being able to explore downtown and the surrounding areas quite a bit.
Here are a few places you might also enjoy!
BUY: The North Asheville Tailgate Farmers Market is a great place to stock up on fresh local produce, pasture-raised meats, or baked goods.
Many farmers grow organically and their prices can be lower than what you'll pay in grocery stores! It's open on Saturdays from 8am to noon at UNC-Asheville.
RELAX: Need to escape the rush of the city? Try Pisgah National Forest. It's about 30 minutes from Asheville on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

There are miles of trails for all skill levels, including back country camping areas, mountain biking trails, numerous swimming spots, and many scenic views.
DRINK: Looking to quench your thirst? Why not grab a cold glass of beer? There are several breweries in Asheville, but Green Man may be the best.
I've had Green Man's IPA several times, but recently visited the tasting room. I enjoyed an IPA (of course), as well as their cask-poured ESB.
If you're more of a wine drinker head to the Biltmore Winery for a wine tasting.

The Rankin Vault is a bar inside an old bank (the vault is still in tact!) that has great bar food and excellent mixed drinks.
Visit The Admiral for a more elegant and refined dining experience.

I enjoy exploring new cities, then sharing the treasures I find with others. I'm a connector and a believer. I think cupcakes make the world go 'round and could live off mac & cheese. It brings me joy to make others smile. I thrive off laughter, love, and good conversation. I'm a bit of a fashion bug who always supports the little guy. I like to inspire people to dream big and LIVE LARGE.

Thank you Carter for the great post!
