DISCOVER: Durham's Duke Gardens

There's one thing I'm loving about life in the Triangle.  The rose gardens!

They take me back to my childhood, when my grandfather was dedicated to tending to his rose garden.  It wrapped around the entire front yard of the house.  His flowers were always the talk of the town because they were so well manicured.

Now I can relive those memories at the Duke gardens in Durham.

It's beautiful, elegant, and HUGE!

Imagine rows of roses, flowers, and greenery that sprawl for acres on the perimeter of Duke University.

I am so happy I had the chance to check this out with Carter before he moved away.

It was a special experience I will always remember.

If you're in need of a quick getaway and a place to reflect, this is the perfect place for serenity.

Next time I'll be sure to pack snacks for a picnic.  Perhaps a book to get some reading done as well.

    2. It was called the Cervants Rose garden in Barcelona. I was walking the city one day and just came across it. It was real beautiful. I was surprised by all the different colors of roses. It's a memory thats that hasn't faded over the years.
